Knox United Church here once again is looking forward to welcoming Canadian fiddle champion Scott Woods and his band on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m.
For the first time in this area, the group will be presenting an uplifting show that celebrates the Christmas season with the wonderful sound of two fiddles played sweetly in harmony in a traditional old-time style.
Along with Woods is an all-star band including guitar, bass, drums, and piano.
The two-hour performance features Woods’ famous trick fiddling, fancy fiddle tunes, and plenty of traditional Christmas music, country songs, inspirational stories, family humour, and sensational step-dancing.
It’s a great way to welcome the Christmas season before the cold of winter settles in.
Woods is a two-time winner of the Canadian Open Fiddle Contest and the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Championship, as well as Fiddle Entertainer of the Year.
His annual cross-Canada tours help raise funds for churches, charities, and community service groups.
To date, more than $2 million has been raised for these groups.
With accessibility and elevator renovations now complete at Knox United Church, it’s a perfect opportunity for music-lovers of all ages to come out and enjoy some great toe-tapping music while supporting a great district community cause.
Tickets cost $25 for adults and $10 for children aged five-12 (kids under five are free).
