Fibre Art Festival winners revealed


The judging has been completed for the local Fibre Art Festival at the Fort Frances Museum & Cultural Centre.
Last Wednesday, Cher Pruys, Patti Anderson, and Phyllis Johnson evaluated the 26 fabulous pieces submitted for this year’s festival.
They judged in three categories: Best Original Design, Best Pattern Design, and Best Use of Materials.
The winners are as follows:
•Best Original Design
1. Off Season Reindeer Games by Jamie Nelson
2. Tiana’s Sweater by Carol Hyatt
•Best Pattern Design
1. By The Lamps Glow by Debbie Ballard
2. Table Runner by Kim Roy
•Best Use of Materials
1. The Mitten by Caren Fagerdahl
2. Lady in Red by Camie Gray
The fibre art is on display upstairs at the museum. The public is welcome to drop by and vote for their favourite piece for the People’s Choice Award.
The museum thanks to all the artists who participated this year. The judges said they had a hard time choosing amongst all of the talent here in our community.
The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Admission is by donation.
