Festive R.I.D.E. wraps up

The provincial Festive R.I.D.E. program concluded Jan. 1, with seven drivers being charged with impaired driving offences in Rainy River District.
As well, out of the 5,377 vehicles checked, 28 other liquor-related offences were laid and one 12-hour suspension issued.
During the campaign, which ran from Nov. 26-Jan. 1, there were 64 motor vehicle collisions in the district, in which 14 people were injured.
The Festive R.I.D.E. program was a project made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services Policing Services Division.
The OPP wishes to remind motorists that R.I.D.E. programs will continue throughout the, and are not limited to holidays and long weekends.
