Farmers’ market offers Father’s Day gifts

Press Release

The Clover Valley Farmers’ Market is the place to be this Saturday (June 19) to find the ideal gift for the fathers in your life.
Father’s Day is the following day, so we encourage you to “Park it at the Market” and pick up some “Local food for your cool dude!”
Local food is the perfect gift for Father’s Day—and is sure to make your father or grandfather smile.
Food is something that everyone can enjoy and is suitable for all ages.
What’s even better is that food from your own district is fresher, tastier, and healthier.
To go along with a great selection of meat, there are three local growers at the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market to supply you with the healthy produce you need to complete a wonderful Father’s Day meal.
This week look for green onions, leaf and head lettuce, turnips, beets, carrots, Swiss chard, radishes, and herbs.
To really “wow” your husband or dad, why not visit Nighswander’s Bakery for mouth-watering cookies, tarts, and pies.
Always a popular item at the market, the Nighswanders’ pies are made with fresh ingredients that are sure to have you raving.
And for those men who are diabetic: sugar-free pies!
Having doubts about which items are best for your man? Why not bring him along and have him choose!
Start your morning by offering him a yummy breakfast at the market kitchen, located just outside the main building.
Peter Wedge, our kitchen cook, will be offering pancakes and waffles, as well as hot coffee, to start your day off right.
The market, located on McIrvine Road just north of Canadian Tire, is open Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
If you have any questions, call Deb or Shannon at 486-3409.
