Press Release
Community. What does this word mean for us?
A sense of belonging? Shared responsibilities and values?
A place of refuge? A place to grow and prosper? A place to listen to and also view our planet?
We share this land, this community, the Rainy River District. All of us living on this land are treaty people, both indigenous and non-indigenous.
We come together in treaty agreement for the mutual benefits of our community.
According to the final report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, reconciliation is about “establishing and maintaining a mutually-respectful relationship between aboriginal and non-aboriginal peoples in this country.”
What does this mean here in our district? How do our lives impact each other?
What is being done here, and elsewhere, that is leading to all people having prosperous lives?
The Right Relations Circle of Rainy River District invites you to attend an evening of fellowship, sharing, and education.
“A Journey Beyond Talk” will be held Monday, June 19, at the Sunset Country Métis Hall (714 Armit Ave.)
A feast will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a session at 6:30 p.m. featuring presenters Shaun Loney and Robert Horton.
