ETL gearing up for busy month

The Emo Toy Library and Resource Centre is gearing up for an exciting October, with activities such as a family pancake breakfast and, of course, Hallowe’en planned.
The pancake breakfast is slated for Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. as part of the ETL’s celebration of the annual Week of the Child, which runs Oct. 13-20 this year.
This special week, proclaimed by the United Nations and held the third week of October, is designed as a time for communities to focus on the needs, rights, and interests of children and to heighten awareness of the value of quality early childhood education.
There also will be a Hallowe’en costume exchange and sale on Saturday, Oct. 20 beginning at 12:30 p.m. If you have a costume that no longer fits your child, or they just want to be something different this year, bring it to the ETL for an exchange.
“The more participants we have, all the better variety of costumes,” noted ETL co-cordinator Josette Vargas.
In other news, this month’s “Mom’s Night Out,” an evening set aside for moms only, is slated Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Finally, Emo Fair 2001 mini-queen Marissa McNally made the draw Saturday afternoon for the ETL’s 50/50 raffle. Tom Mosbeck was the winner, taking home $133.50.
