First the Selects bounced visiting Gillons’ (Fort Frances) 4-1, scoring three second-period markers to pull away. Eric Soucy blinked the light twice while Braden Baker and Brian Wayash had one each.
Taylor Jorgenson notched Gillons’ lone goal.
Then the Emo Esso Leafs had target practice against visiting Causeway Cougars (Fort Frances) en route to an 11-4 victory. Matt Beck led the way with the hat trick while Tyler Kinnear and Nathan DeBungie each netted a pair.
Brock Benjamin, Terry Carmody, Tyler Cottam, and Maverick Judson added singles. Matthew McLellan (two), Craig Johnson, and Tyler Harris replied for the Cougars.
In their second game, the Emo Selects could not handle visiting International Falls, coming out on the short end of a 6-2 decision. Chris Strachan and Eric Soucy scored for the Selects.
But it was a different story in their matchup against Emo Esso as the Selects cruised to a 9-2 win. Tyson Romyn had a red hot stick with four goals while Eric Soucy added a hat trick.
John Roulston and Chris Strachan scored the other Select goals while Travis Showalter and Brock Benjamin replied for Esso.
In Novice action, Emo edged their visitors from Fort Frances 6-5. Emo’s goal scorers were not available, with Ben Drazenovich and Josh Scott (two each) and Dayton Brown scoring for Fort Frances.
Meanwhile, the Rockets flew past the Emo Wings 6-4. Ryan Witherspoon led the attack with three goals while Luke Judson, Chris Mutz, and Charlie DeBungee added singles.

Revenge was on the minds of the Panthers as they entertained the Emo Cowboys, skating away with a 6-1 on goals by Matt Meyers and Jason Webb (two each), Kyle McTavish, and Jesse Crawford.
Jon Kinnear netted the Cowboys’ lone marker.
In the lone Midget contest, visiting OPP (Fort Frances) arrested the Emo Blues 3-1. Brad Gushulak got all three Fort goals while Whitebear Copenace replied for Emo.
