It will be a full house at the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market tomorrow and Saturday, with every inch of vending space let out for the annual Easter market.
Blair and Donna Lowey, of Lowey’s Greenhouse here, have been organizing the event. He said the market will feature a wide array of items to help area residents spruce up their homes–and dinner tables–this Easter.
“They’ll be some local, homemade fresh chocolates as well as lots of Easter baking,” he noted, not to mention homemade preserves, jams, and jellies.
“There’s some regular farmers’ market regulars as well as some new stuff,” he added
Sweets aren’t the only things for sale, Lowey said. Both Sunset Ridge Meat Processors and the Fairway Store will have their hams, roasts, and other meat items at the market.
Plus there will be a virtual forest of Easter lilies and other potted plants, he added.
“Also, we will have an authentic Ukrainian Easter egg decorating demonstration,” Lowey remarked. “We also will have other Easter eggs for sale.
“It will look nice,” he said.
The Easter market runs just weeks before the regular Clover Valley Farmers’ Market opens for another season May 2. Andra Stacpolle-Arnold, the new manager of the farmers’ market, is expected to be on hand for the Easter festivities.
Market treasurer Trish Neilson said Stacpolle-Arnold is still settling down into the area and will be at the Easter market mostly to get her bearings.
“She’ll probably get organized and oriented,” Neilson said. “We’re pretty excited to have her aboard.”
Neilson also believed vendors will see an increase in business at this Easter market compared to last year’s.
One big plus is the weather, noting someone had to clear the parking lot of snow last year. And with a little bit of luck, the mild weather will hold through the weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” Neilson said.
