A listening session for those interested in signing in this year’s Easter cantata is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church here.
Diane Maxey, who once again will be directing the choir, said she hopes to see her “Choraliers” there, as well as anyone else interested in singing.
She noted the listening session is to give those interested a chance to hear the songs they’ll be singing.
If they’re still interested afterwards, they can buy a songbook and CDs from Maxey and take them home to practice.
Maxey said the actual rehearsals won’t begin for another three weeks or so after this initial listening session.
As in past years, the Easter cantata will be performed at St. Mary’s Church. Maxey said a date for the cantata has not been confirmed yet, noting Easter Sunday falls on April 8 this year.
