Drug charges laid

On Jan. 20, one female was charged with trafficking a Schedule I drug when she tried to sell three containers of methadone to a plainclothes police officer.
She was arrested, charged, and later released with a court date of Feb. 17 in Fort Frances.
Then on Jan. 27, members of the Community Drug Action Team stopped a vehicle in Fort Frances that resulted in one male and one female being charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and Tylenol 3.
The male also was charged with failing to comply with a court order.
As a result of the traffic stop, several items were seized, including the vehicle, scales, cash, and three aluminum containers with false bottoms designed to conceal items.
Police still are investigating several Highway Traffic Act offences and charges are pending.
The court date for both individuals is Feb. 27 in Fort Frances.
