‘Dr. Mac’ retirement dinner set

Nelson Medicine Professional Corp. and Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. are hosting a retirement and appreciation dinner for Dr. Angus Mackintosh on Friday, Oct. 8 at La Place Rendez-Vous.
Tickets cost $25 each, which includes dinner and a gift.
A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner to follow. There also will be a cash bar.
Tickets are available at Nelson Medicine (Fort Frances Clinic) and the Riverside administration office at La Verendrye Hospital, or by calling 274-3287 ext. 254 or 274-4801.
“Dr. Mac has been a critical part of our obstetrics department for many, many years and we are sad to see him go,” said Riverside president and CEO Wayne Woods.
“His work ethic and dedication to his profession will not be matched,” Woods added.
The public is invited to come and celebrate Dr. Mac’s 39-year career and thank him for his significant contributions to health care in Fort Frances, the Rainy River District, and Northwestern Ontario.
Dr. Elaine Spencer, President of Nelson Medicine Professional Corporation, and a colleague and friend, commented on the impact of his departure from the clinical team at Nelson Medicine.
“He has been such a fantastic obstetric consultant for so many years,” said Dr. Elaine Spencer, president of the Nelson Medicine Professional Corp., as well as a colleague and friend.
“He will be sorely missed and his shoes will be hard to fill,” she added.
It’s been estimated that Dr. Mac has delivered more than 10,000 babies, spanning generations of families.
His steadfast nature and ability to calm the waters is a testament to the many lives he has touched.
