Dr. Dean Jobin-Bevans

Dean Jobin-Bevans received his musical education at the University of Toronto and at McGill University, where he completed his graduate work obtaining both a master’s and doctorate degree in choral conducting.
Dr. Jobin-Bevans has sung with the Opera in Concert chorus in Toronto, under the direction of Dr. Robert Cooper, C.M., and the Ensemble vocal de l’Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Charles Dutoit, Artistic Director.
As a conductor, Dr. Jobin-Bevans directed the Ensemble vocal Musica Viva, was the founding co-director of Les Voix Libres, and was interim director of Music at The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul.
Until August, 2005, Dr. Jobin-Bevans was the director of the McGill Conservatory of Music. In September, 2005, he moved to Thunder Bay, where he is now an assistant professor in the Department of Music at Lakehead University, where he conducts the university choral ensembles and the Lakehead University Opera Studio.
In 2007, he was appointed the chorus master for the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra.
