A dozen local non-profit organizations looking for funds to benefit children, families, and the less-advantaged submitted applications to the Moffat Family Fund by Friday’s 2 p.m. deadline.
Administrative assistant Lori Pattison said late Friday that the local selection committee now will meet next Wednesday (March 18) to look over the submissions.
They must choose the recipients and then forward those selections on to the Winnipeg Foundation for approval by early April.
Successful applicants should receive their share of funds in June.
As previously reported, the Town of Fort Frances will be receiving $43,750 from the Moffat Family Fund this year to hand out to local groups and service clubs with the aim of helping youths and families.
Last July, a total of $54,000 in Moffat Foundation grant awards were presented to 10 applicants.
