Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. is reminding the public to refrain from visiting patients at all its health care facilities (La Verendrye, Emo, Rainy River, and Rainycrest) if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
Cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
“I cannot stress enough that the best defence against the spread of infectious diseases is the washing your hands frequently,” said Jodi Jewell, the Infection Control Officer at Riverside.
Jewell said that because there in an increase of confirmed cases of flu/influenza in the region, it is a good time to be proactive.
“As a precautionary measure, we will be setting up an information desk at the main entrance at La Verendrye Hospital to ensure the public are washing their hands before entering the hospital,” she said.
Auxiliary volunteers also will be reminding the public to not visit patients if they are not feeling well.
