Donations wanted for book drive

Got new or “gently-used” books suitable for children or teenagers you don’t need anymore? Want to give them to a great cause?
The local OPP detachment is participating in Ontario Lt.-Gov. James K. Bartleman’s second province-wide “Book Drive for Aboriginal Youth Literacy,” and is accepting donations until the end of January.
The public can drop the books off at the Fort Frances detachment during regular business hours (Monday to Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Cst. Dereck McLean said Monday the drive so far has seen about 50 books turned in. He added the drive concludes Jan. 31 and that no books will be accepted after that date.
As the goal of this drive is to provide books for youth, the OPP will not accept books intended for adults, nor reference books/materials or magazines.
And as stated above, the books should be in new or as good as new condition.
The collected books will be sorted and packaged and, through arrangements with the Canadian Forces, will be delivered to aboriginal communities across Ontario.
