Halloween is fast approaching, and the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre (FFPLTC) still needs your help to make this year’s Trunk or Treat a spooky success.
The annual event is scheduled to run from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, and in order to do so, participants with Trunks, donations of candy and cash, and plenty of volunteer power are still required.
In order to make sure children and families have a fun night of Trick or Treating, businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to register their trunk with the library to ensure there are plenty of stops to make. Trunks can be decorated to your hearts content, with plenty of prizes in the available in categories like “Best Dressed” or “Scariest” trunks and costumes.
While participating trunks are encouraged to bring plenty of their own candy to pass out, the FFPLTC is also still asking for candy and cash donations to help supplement the supply for all participants. Donated cash will be used to buy more candy, and all FFPLTC candy will be used to stock up any trunks that are running low throughout the night.
Finally, volunteers are being sought to help sort and organize candy ahead of the event, as well as to help out on the night of Trunk or Treat. FFPLTC CEO Joan MacLean said all volunteers who turn out for the night will be released by 8:00 p.m.
The annual event promises a safe and fun Halloween night for children and families, but needs the support of the community to be successful, so anyone interested in donation or volunteering is asked to drop their donations off at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre, or call the FFPLTC at 274-9879 as soon as possible.
