Press Release

The 2015 barn concert season at Cornell Farms opens this Monday (June 15) with a “Community Chest” fundraiser.
The concert will feature Canadian singer/songwriter Brent Newman and local band Rough Cut Pine.
Newman has been writing and recording music for nearly 20 years. Born in Saskatchewan and then moving as a child to Fort Frances, he enjoyed a childhood here on Rainy Lake.
He has lived in London, England for the last 15 years—having success leading a band (The Koreans) and then later as a solo artist, releasing three albums to date.
Returning to Canada last year, he has been playing and writing his music with Fort Frances roots rock band Rough Cut Pine (Jim Newman, Robroy Donaldson, and Bill Shine).
Activities begin at 6:30 p.m. with games and a barbecue. The concert will follow at 7:30 p.m.
There will be additional items auctioned off throughout the evening–many of them one-of-a-kind items.
If you have items to donate for either the auction or as prizes for the activities, drop them off at the Emo Research Station, Cornell Farms (located on La Vallee Road North), or the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market.
We are hoping for interesting items with a rural or farming theme (unique food or meat packages would be most welcome).
Drop them off by Saturday (June 13) so we can package them up into appropriate bundles for the auction or for prizes for the games.
Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
They are available at the Fort Frances Public Library, the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market, Tompkins Hardware in Emo, and Cornell Farms.
