Do-it center planning fifth-annual Home Show

Organizers of the “Northern Do-it center Home and Trade Show ’98” are busy preparing for the fifth-annual event slated April 23-25 at Memorial Arena here.
The show will appeal to the homeowner in as many ways as one can imagine, said Robin Roper, a salesman for the Do-it center and co-organizer of the event.
“It’s basically about everything you need to build a house and to enjoy it–everything from tools to spas and saunas,” he noted Monday, adding more than 35 booths and at least 50 product reps are expected to be on hand for the three-day show.
“It’s a good kickoff for spring and for anyone who will be doing work over the summer,” Roper remarked.
Whether you’re thinking about installing a pellet stove or landscaping your yard, advice on these products–and more–will be there for the taking.
“The emphasis will be on building by knowledgeable people who are sales [people] for those products,” he said.
Roper also said the Do-it center will pay the GST on all items purchased at the Home Show. And as in previous years, door prizes will be up for grabs as well as numerous booth draws.
“There will be some tremendous [door] prizes,” he enthused. “In the past we’ve had somewhere in the neighbourhood of $20,000 worth.”
The Home Show will run April 23 from noon-9 p.m., April 24 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and April 25 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
