Press Release
The Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board yesterday announced the retirement of its Chief Administrative Officer, Donna Dittaro, effective Nov. 1.
The local DSSAB is responsible for the administration and management of Ontario Works, child care, social housing, and land ambulance services in Rainy River District.
“Donna Dittaro has successfully led the [DSSAB] through its inception to the establishment of an organization that continues to recognize the needs of the communities and population we serve,” said board chair Ross Donaldson.
“On behalf of the board, our staff, and communities, I thank Donna for her dedication to our communities, the staff, and the public,” he added.
“For the past 12 years, Donna has worked diligently to ensure the effective operation of services and to support the needs of the communities throughout the Rainy River District,” echoed DSSAB vice-chair Valerie Pizey.
“I thank Donna for her work and wish her well in her retirement.”
Effective immediately, Dan McCormick will act as interim CAO of the local DSSAB.
This appointment will assist the board during this time of transition, provide an opportunity to conduct an open recruitment in the future, and allow Donna to enjoy her scheduled vacation prior to her retirement date.
“We have many challenges to face in the Rainy River District in the months to come and we want to ensure, as a board, that the best possible decisions are made after careful consideration,” Donaldson noted.
