Press Release
Local MP John Rafferty is hosting a series of disability tax credit workshops and town hall meetings across the Thunder Bay-Rainy River riding this week.
The first meeting will be held tomorrow (Oct. 14) at the Emo Legion.
The disability tax credit workshop will run from 6-7 p.m., followed by the town hall meeting from 7-9 p.m.
Meetings in Atikokan and Thunder Bay will follow on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
The first hour of each meeting will be devoted to informing constituents about the disability tax credit, which is designed to help offset the cost of care for people with mobility, vision, and hearing problems or other health issues.
If anyone has, or knows someone that has, difficulty seeing, hearing, walking significant distance, or other health-related issues, then they may qualify for this substantial government assistance program.
Rafferty will have staff on hand to explain the program and assist anyone who wishes to submit an application.
The final two hours of the meetings will be dedicated to an open discussion about the issues facing residents of Thunder Bay-Rainy River and what Rafferty has been working on in Ottawa since the start of the new session of Parliament.
All are welcome to both the disability tax credit workshop and the town hall meeting.
