To ensure there is no congestion with U.S.-bound traffic due to the ongoing detour for the King’s Highway reconstruction, a so-called “USA border traffic line-up detour” has been implemented.
Eastbound U.S.-bound traffic on Fourth Street West will be directed to turn right onto Cornwall Avenue and then turn left at the Third Street West intersection.
They then will take the south lane to the ramp at the Central Avenue intersection and proceed south to the border.
This weekend—the first weekend after the U.S. Memorial Day long weekend—probably is one of the busiest traffic weekends of the year at the border here, noted Operations and Facilities manager Doug Brown.
“Hopefully there are no issues,” he remarked.
