‘Decade’ committees already planning events

With the FFHS Millennium Reunion now only months away, former students from Fort Frances High School have begun to meet in their decade groups to plan their events.
By the end of the month, all the decade groups will have held their inaugural meetings.
Topics being discussed at the meetings include ideas for the decade rooms, the decade’s float in the millennium parade, and plans for the decade luncheons.
Another topic to be discussed will be the number of people from each decade who already have registered for the reunion and how to best get in touch with classmates who have not yet registered.
For those on various decade committees, the fun and excitement of the Millennium Reunion already has begun. Former students of Fort High wanting to get involved with the decade committees may reach the committee chairperson for their group–they include:
•20s, 30s, early 40s–Barry Cox (274-5885);
•40s–Van Green (274-3446);
•50s–Sandra Brunetta (274-2324);
•60s–Bill Gushulak (274-3891);
•70s, 80s, 90s–Patti Boileau (274-9337).

The reunion committee, overseeing the entire reunion schedule, is pleased to announce an invitation is being extended by former Fort High football players to former Fort High cleerleaders to join them at the football reunion breakfast scheduled for the morning of July 8.
This will be an opportunity for cheerleaders and football players alike to remember football games, trips, and to pour over the photographs covering the teams’ histories.

With more events being scheduled for the first official day of the reunion, organizers are getting the word out to registrants that they need to register early. Registrants will need to sign up for such early events as the Kayak/Canoe Paddle–Eric @ Rainy Lake Boatworks (274-6387); 10K Walk–Gord @ St. Jude’s Gourmet Coffee (274-9164); and Reunion Golf Tournament–Freddie Beck (274-5532).
While more and more reunion spots are getting filled each day, it is not too late to register for the reunion.
