Red Lake OPP, with the assistance of the North West Region Crime Unit and the Criminal Investigation Branch, are investigating the death of a 46-year old female from Pikangikum who was residing in Red Lake.
The woman was found unconscious and unresponsive near Howey Street on the morning of July 12.
She was taken to hospital in Red Lake and then flown to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, where she succumbed to her injuries yesterday morning.
The name of the deceased will be released after next-of-kin notifications have been completed.
