The Fort Frances OPP and the coroner’s office are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a Rainycrest resident earlier this week.
Martin Selman, 75, was discovered deceased in his residence in the early-morning hours of Monday, police said in a press release issued late this morning.
A post-mortem examination was conducted at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora and the investigation is continuing, police noted.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Fort Frances OPP detachment.
Members of the North West Region Forensic Identification Unit and the North West Region Crime Unit are assisting in the investigation, the release said.
The investigation is continuing under the direction of the coroner’s office and further information will be released if it becomes available, it added.
