District musicians shouldn’t miss this chance for their big break.
The Rainy River Future Development Corp. is hunting for local talent to perform at a monthly concert series at the new Rainy Lake Square here on Thursday nights from May through September, and the deadline for artists to take part has been extended from March 26 to March 30.
Interested artists must e-mail Natasha@rrfdc.on.ca before 5 p.m. on March 30 to submit their name/act for consideration.
After that, performers will be chosen via an online competitive poll process.
Voting will begin April 7 and close April 16.
“We’re looking for all musical artists or groups in the Rainy River District,” Natasha Gaudio, economic development co-ordinator with the RRFDC, told the Times this morning.
“We want to make sure that anyone who may be interested in entering has the chance to reach out and get their name on the poll for consideration,” she noted.
“Whomever is chosen will play a professional gig, and we are looking for professional musicians with 90 minutes of material,” Gaudio added.
“This is also a great opportunity for someone just starting out.
“All genres are welcome and we’re excited to hear from a diverse array of talent in the Rainy River District,” she remarked.
Winning artists must be available for concert dates requested, and must be willing to accept technical rider and payment terms.
The RRFDC also is looking for artists wanting to host their own musical or artistic event, busk, or otherwise provide entertainment in the square this spring and summer.
Those interested also are encouraged to contact Gaudio at Natasha@rrfdc.on.ca
