Daffodils save lives—buy a bunch

When you buy a bunch of daffodils, you’re helping the Canadian Cancer Society fund important research that will help more Canadians survive cancer.
Fort Frances Beta Sigma Phi members once again are proud to support these efforts to fight cancer. At the same time, it gives us all a chance to work together to defeat this disease.
Since 2000, we’ve helped contribute more than $57,500 to this worthwhile cause. Many of our Beta Sigma Phi volunteers’ lives have been affected by cancer.
The Canadian Cancer Society provides patients and their families with up-to-date and reliable information on all types of cancer through its toll-free Cancer Information Service at 1-888-939-3333.
Since the daffodil campaign began more than 50 years ago, real progress has been made in the fight against cancer. For instance, almost 60 percent of people diagnosed with cancer today will survive.
The society also offers various caring services, such as the peer support program, which matches recently-diagnosed cancer patients or their caregivers with a trained volunteer, who draws upon their own cancer experience to offer encouragement, compassion, and helpful information.

On Friday, March 28—buy daffodils. Business pre-order sheets currently are available around town and in Emo. For $6 a bunch, or two bunches for $10, you can help make cancer history.
We also offer opportunities to pre-purchase a bucket of daffodils that may be used to decorate your business, or give to staff and/or patrons at your discretion.
Of course, you also can purchase daffodils that day at selected locations, such as The Beer Store or Knox United Church basement.
Daffodils symbolize hope; and when you buy daffodils—hope blooms. Thank you for your continued support.
