CUPE 65 honours retirees

CUPE Local 65 recognized retiring members for their years of hard work during its annual retirement dinner/dance Saturday at the Fort Frances Curling Club.
Four of this year’s retirees were from Rainycrest Home for the Aged here, including Lynn Dolk (23 years), Mabel McArthur (23 years), Carol Booth (18 years), and Linda Guimond (15 years).
Guimond and McArthur were on hand Saturday evening to receive certificates of recognition from Richard McKinnon, acting on behalf of local MPP Howard Hampton.
Other retirees this year included three from the Fort Frances Clinic—Jeanette DeGagne (17 years), Mary Ducharme (20 years), and Myrna Miller (23 years).
The final two retirees were Gabriella Padovan, who’s spent 14.5 years with the Northwest Catholic District School Board, and Patricia Desrochers, who’s worked for Home Support for the last 18 years.
Midge McTaggart, shop steward for the Fort Frances Children’s Complex, was emcee for the evening, which also featured a buffet meal, door prizes, and a dance.
