The Canadian National Institute for the Blind’s annual crocus sale to raise funds in support of local programs and services has begun.
Starting today, these lovely potted crocus blooms can be purchased at the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau (located in the old CN station), which is open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
They’re also being sold at the Sister Kennedy Centre and Wal-Mart here.
As well, you can order them by calling the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau at 274-9555 or faxing in order forms to 274-5456.
Plants cost $5 each or three for $12.
Crocuses will bloom within days of purchase. You can save the bulbs and replant them in the fall, then watch them bloom next spring.
The first flower of spring, the crocus is a symbol of hope for all Canadians affected by vision loss.
Bring spring home early—and help the CNIB promote vision health and enhance independence for people living with vision loss in your community.
For 17 years, the CNIB annual crocus sale has been adding beauty to the lives of Canadians.
Each February, thousands of CNIB volunteers and staff spread the joy and promise of spring by selling crocus plants in 51 communities across the province.
The CNIB is a nationwide, community-based registered charity committed to public education, research, and the vision health of all Canadians.
It provides the services and support necessary to enjoy a good quality of life while living with vision loss.
