A familiar face has taken the helm of the Northwest Unit of the Ontario Catholic Teacher’s Association.

Nathan Cousineau. Cousineau succeeded Dan Maltaise as the local association president.

Prior to this, Maltais was recognized for his longtime contributions in 2019 when he received the Pearse Shannon Memorial Association Award for dedicated service, after nearly two decades of carrying out duties as the Executive President. Maltais is looking forward to retirement and spending time with his family. He will continue to serve on the Executive as Past President. Thank you Dan for your service to the labour movement and Catholic Education.

Cousineau is an accomplished teacher from Fort Frances with over a decade of teaching experience.

Prior to teaching, Cousineau served as a soldier in Afghanistan and as an Adult Educator with a local community career development service provider. He looks forward to working with the Association’s membership and all public education stakeholders to ensure that Ontario’s strong public education system remains intact for future generations to come.
