Court teams earn split

The four Muskie court teams travelled to Kenora on Tuesday to open the NorWOSSA regular season against the Broncos, with mixed results.
The senior girls’ volleyball squad came away victorious in straight sets, taking the best-of-five match by scores of 25-15, 55-15, and 25-22.
It was much of the same for the Muskie juniors as they also won 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, and 28-26).
In boys’ basketball action, the senior squad battled hard but ultimately fell just short in a 71-70 loss to the host Broncos.
The juniors, meanwhile, were routed 58-34 by the Broncos.
Braydon Christiansen and Jordon Bazylewski led the way with eight points apiece in that one.
The senior spikers will be in action again this weekend when they head to Dryden for tournament on Friday and Saturday.
All four teams then will resume NorWOSSA action on Tuesday (Dec. 11) when they host the Eagles at Fort High.
