“Citizens for Backus/AB” are inviting friends from both sides of the border to come out for a country music variety show featuring the band Pier Country.
The play list will include songs by country legends Merle Haggard, Glen Campbell, Marty Robbins, Chet Atkins, and Dolly Parton, as well as newer stars like Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Lee Ann Womack, and the Dixie Chicks.
“There will be instrumentalists, lots of singing, and a band. It will be a variety of different types of things,” said Margarett Patnode, a spokeswoman for Citizens for Backus/AB.
“They draw a terrific audience and they’re very popular on the Iron Range,” she added.
The members of Pier Country play more than 10 different instruments, and will perform with special guest Tiffany Anderson.
The show is slated for Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Backus Auditorium in International Falls.
Tickets cost $8.50 for adults and $5 for students in advance, and $10 for adults and $6 for students at the door. Advance tickets are available at Northwoods Gallery and Gifts here in Fort Frances.
