Setting the stage for the next two years, Mayor Roy Avis appointed councillors to the numerous town committees, as well as district and regional boards, at Monday night’s inaugural meeting.
They are as follows:

The mayor is an ex-officio member of all town boards and committees.
These appointments are for a two-year term ending Nov. 30, 2016, at which point Mayor Avis will appoint councillors for the remaining two years of their four-year terms.
As in recent years, the deputy mayor will be whoever is chair of the committee of the whole.
The mayor and all six councillors also were appointed to the committee of the whole, with the chairperson to rotate on a six-month basis.
Coun. Ryan will serve as chair first until March 31, 2015, with Coun. Albanese to be vice-chair.
