Setting the stage for the next two years, Mayor Roy Avis appointed councillors to the numerous town committees and district and regional boards at Monday night’s meeting.
And reasoning that councillors have done such a good job, the mayor re-appointed each of them to the same committees and boards they’re currently sitting on.
“We’re exactly halfway through our term,” Mayor Avis noted. “It’s our first meeting for the next two years, and I’d like to thank those members of council for participating.
“It’s been extraordinary the last two years,” he added. “We’ve had so many issues that have come forward and council has always stepped to the plate, and I’d like to thank you for that.”
And because they all have been working so diligently in their positions, Mayor Avis said he decided not to move anyone from any of the boards or committees they currently sit on.
