Town council will hear presentations from the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre and NCDS at its regular meeting tonight.
Library CEO Caroline Goulding will present council with a report entitled, “The Value of Your Library–Social and Economic Return on Your Investment.”
NCDS executive director Nicke Paddock then will speak about NCDS’ community involvement.
There also will be a public meeting to approve a 2018 tax adjustment for property located at 335 Scott St., resulting from a demolition of a building to allow the land to be used as a parking lot.
Tonight’s council meeting will follow the committee of the whole meeting, which gets underway at 4 p.m. (not 5:30 p.m. as was listed in “Around Town” in Thursday’s Daily Bulletin).
Two in-camera items are on the agenda first, which involve the local wood supply/mill negotiations and Agency One matters.
Other business on the agenda tonight includes:
•a report re: establishing 2019 water and sewer rates;
•a request from Trevor Fitzgerald of Gillons Insurance Brokers re: 2019 parking passes;
•a bylaw to adopt a code of conduct for members of council, local boards, and committees of the Corporation of the Town of Fort Frances;
•a bylaw to appoint Paul Heayn as integrity commissioner for the Corporation of the Town of Fort Frances; and
•a resolution re: attendance at the upcoming “Essentials of Municipal Fire Protection” seminar.
