With a grand opening for the new Fort Frances Public Library and Technology Centre scheduled for June 21, town council will get an update as to how the project is coming along at its regular meeting tonight.
Joyce Cunningham, chair of the Fort Frances Library Board, will speak to council about the progress of the building, as well as funding from Ontario Library Services North for technology advancements to libraries, including $109,000 over two years for a technology co-ordinator for the new library and technology centre here.
The public portion of tonight’s meeting is scheduled to start at 6:25 p.m.
The committee of the whole will meet in-camera first, starting at 5:30.
Other business on the agenda will include:
•a report on weddings at Sunny Cove Camp;
•a report on property at 319 Third St. W.;
•a report on an inspection of the sewage treatment plant by the Ministry of the Environment;
•a geospatial data licence agreement with Centra Transmission Holdings;

•a bylaw to amend Town of Fort Frances By-Law 10/03 (Traffic Control By-Law);
•a bylaw to authorize entering into an agreement granting an easement with Union Gas Ltd. over certain municipal property; and
•a bylaw to authorize an end-user licence agreement with the Queen’s Printer, as represented by Land Information Ontario, for purposes of access to the Ontario Land Information Directory.
