Council bullets

Town council agreed Monday night to a request from the local Salvation Army to participate in its 2010 Christmas kettle campaign.
Also at Monday’s meeting, council:
•referred a resolution from the Police Services Board, recommending to council that the Traffic Safety Committee examine all aspects of traffic flow at the intersection of Central Avenue/Third Street West and Second Street East, to the Traffic Safety Committee for review;
•referred a financial request from Community Broadcasting Services, regarding holiday safety program ads, to the Administration and Finance executive committee for its recommendation;
•referred an invitation from the Ministry of Environment, to join the MoE transfer of review program, to the Operations and Facilities executive committee for its recommendation;
•passed a bylaw to amend zoning bylaw 08/98-420 Mowat Ave. (this adds a provision to permit an additional accessory dwelling on the main floor);
•passed a bylaw to amend a bylaw to stop up and close for the purpose of selling part of McKenzie Avenue North, south of Fifth Street East and north of the CN right-of-way; and
•passed a bylaw to authorize the signing of an agreement with CUPE Local 65.
