Cookie drive hits $800

A recent Valentine cookie charity campaign by Tess’ Kitchen here has raised $800 for two good causes.
Tess Coish, who had been taking orders for heart-shaped Valentine cookies for $1 each, told the Times she collected $748 in sales.
She also received some extra money people gave as tips.
Coish has donated $400 to the Fort Frances Community Chest, which helps district families with medical expenses, while the other $400 went to “Walk for A Smile.”
The latter is a campaign to purchase preventive oral health care supplies in which her daughter, Sara, a dental hygiene student at Cambrian College in Sudbury, is involved.
