Community Living needs votes

Press Release

Community Living Fort Frances and District (CLFFD) is looking for your vote now!
For the third year in a row, Aviva Insurance has offered $1 million to be shared between the most popular community ideas proposed by non-profit groups in Canada.
That’s why CLFFD needs your vote now. We’ve entered our week at Sunny Cove Camp into the contest to try and receive funding to ensure next year’s camp.
Since the contest is looking for community events that bring people together, as well as create positive change in their respective areas and fields, our organization has decided to enter our week at Sunny Cove Camp because of how important it is to our members, service users, volunteers, and the community in general.
CLFFD is a not-for-profit organization and so funding sometimes can be sparse and community events are never set in stone.
The week at Sunny Cove Camp is one of our biggest functions of the year and highly-anticipated by previous campers and volunteers.
We hope to receive the votes of our members, and those in the community who believe in our work, to guarantee we can continue to offer this event for years to come.
Sunny Cove Camp offers individuals the chance to enjoy activities and events they normally wouldn’t have the means to enjoy. Some of the outdoor games include swimming, horseshoes, and T-ball, among many others.
We contribute craft supplies, interactive music sessions, and indoor games for rainy days. And we have a live band come in for the social at the end of the week.
There also have been cultural events, such as pow-wows, to accommodate the vast differences of the campers, as well as themed weeks, such as ’60s Summer Fun or Tropical Beach, to give campers a chance to dress up and experience different foods, music, and activities.
For many of our clients, this is the big end to their summer. And now we need your vote to keep the camp running.
