Confederation College president Pat Lang has announced her retirement, effective next July.
“The college is an incredibly exciting place to learn and work, and the employees are highly-committed to meeting the needs of the students and contributing to their success,” Lang said in a statement released by the college.
“It has been the privilege of a lifetime for me to serve the citizens of Northwestern Ontario for the past 10 years,” she added.
Lang informed Confederation College’s board of governors of her retirement plans on Friday.
“Confederation has been privileged to have had the gift of Pat Lang for 10 years,” said board chair Marilyn Gouthro.
“While the board understands and supports Mrs. Lang’s decision, the board will truly miss her leadership, energy, and commitment to students and staff, as well as her understanding of, and advocacy for, Northwestern Ontario’s needs,” Gouthro noted.
The board will undertake a national search for a new president as soon as possible, she added.
