Clowns coming for Christmas

If you’ve ever wanted to clown around in church, then you can’t miss this.
St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church is opening its doors for a Christmas service Sunday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. conducted by a team of clowns.
That’s right–clowns.
Rev. Mary Whitson said the clown team, from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Little Fork, Mn., performed for her church’s Sunday School class last year.
They were so good, she said she just had to invite them back for the whole town to see.
“It’s an Advent service and it’s particularly for children,” Rev. Whitson said. “And the children will get to interact with the clowns [during the service].”
The clown team is composed of about eight to 10 players, led by 19-year-old Jen Murray of Little Fork.
“Once the clowns have their make-up on, they don’t talk so they use signs,” Rev. Whitson explained. “Part of the interaction is with the children reading the signs.
“I’m just thrilled I’ve got them coming,” she enthused. “We made the service early specifically so it won’t be too late for children.”
