Citizens named to town committees

Council passed a motion Monday night to name citizen appointees to various town committees for the term running Dec. 1, 2003-Nov. 30, 2006.
The various committees, including the council reps previously named at the Dec. 1 inaugural meeting, are:
•Accessibility Advisory Committee— Laurie Lundale, Joanne Davis, Lawrence Catherall, and Jennifer Cawston;
•Children’s Complex Advisory Committee—Shauna-Leigh Carlson, Laurie Brown, Linda Wall, Tracy Booth, and Coun. Tannis Drysdale;
•Museum and Cultural Centre Advisory Committee—Janet Plumridge and Sandra Tibbs;
•Fort Frances Public Library board—Arlene Georgeson, Mark Kowalchuk, Joyce Cunningham, Ron King, and Ruth Caldwell;
•Sister Kennedy Centre board of management—Marjorie McTaggart, Nellie Shybyski, Allan Wickstrom, Nick Wihnan and Mary Clinker, and Couns. Tannis Drysdale and Struchan Gilson;
•Theatre Management Advisory Committee—Marlene McQuarrie and Coun. Rick Wiedenhoeft;
•Traffic Safety Advisory Committee— Ryan Mueller and Malcolm (Gus) MacDonell;
•Town of Fort Frances Police Services Board—John McTaggart, Mayor Dan Onichuk, and Coun. Neil Kabel;
•Economic Development Advisory Committee—William E. (Bill) Gushulak, Gord Sisco, Bruce Caldwell, Patti-Jo Reid and David Lovisa; and
•“Citizen of the Year” selection committee—William E. (Bill) Gushulak, Mark Kowalchuk, Mayor Onichuk and Coun. Wiedenhoeft.
Council also passed a motion Monday night to dissolve the La Verendrye Parkway committee.
Appointments to the Committee of Adjustment, Planning Advisory Committee, and Business Improvement Association board of management will be announced at the Dec. 15 council meeting.
