Borderland Pride has announced Choir! Choir! Choir! will be coming to Fort Frances to celebrate and headline their Pride 2022 festivities.

The announcement from the local Pride organization, in partnership with Tour de Fort, came over the weekend, and noted the Toronto-based singing group will be the star performers for the Borderland Pride Festival scheduled to take place on June 11. The event is planned to follow the Pride March and will be free to attend, though tickets will be required.

For those not in the know, Choir! Choir! Choir! is a Toronto-based singing group that was founded in 2011 and has taken YouTube and social media by storm. Untraditional and unique in nature, Choir! Choir! Choir!’s events are a collaborative affair where participants show up and are taught original choral arrangements to popular songs by group creative directors Nobu Adilman and Daveed Goldman. While all of their events end with a memorable performance of the tune by a group of dozens, possibly hundreds, singing in harmony, Choir! Choir! Choir! events have also featured a spectacular number of special guest performers taking part in the fun and have included Rufus Wainwright, Rick Astley, Tegan and Sara, and Colin Hay in past events.

According to the release provided by Borderland Pride, Choir! Choir! Choir! exists to celebrate music and push the boundaries between practice and performance, artist and audience, offering therapeutic benefits with the ultimate side effect: a powerful community.

Tickets for the event will be made available in the weeks to come, with a special advanced offering available at this Friday’s Tour de Fort performance by Avery Raquel. Online tickets will be available at www.borderlandpride.org/ccc. Ticket holders will be eligible to win prizes at the event.

“Borderland Pride will announce its full 2022 festival program in May,” the group stated in the release.

“Organizations interested in partnering on a Pride event or initiative to be part of the official line-up are encouraged to contact Borderland Pride as soon as possible.”
