The Fort Frances Community Chest has set Sunday, Feb. 12 at La Place Rendez-Vous as the date and location for its fundraiser dinner, with tickets to go on sale starting next week.
While the last dinner was held back in February, 2010, the charity continues to help district individuals and families facing medical bills.
And in order to keep doing so, organizers are looking for the community’s support at next month’s dinner.
“We think we need to go back to our roots of who we are and, of course, we need to fill our coffers,” said volunteer Linda Hamilton, who is working alongside Joelle Blanc and Rendez-Vous owner Paul Noonan to organize the fundraiser.
The dinner has been a very popular event in the past, drawing sold-out crowds of more than 200 people while raising thousands of dollars to provide financial aid to local families facing medical expenses.
Organizers are hoping to be as successful this time around.
Blanc will act as emcee for the evening, which will feature live and silent auctions.
There will be no guest speaker, Instead, Hamilton said organizers are asking those people they have helped in the past to give a brief testimonial.
She added it would great to have three-five people talk about their experience with the Community Chest.
Those wanting to donate a live or silent auction item, or offer a testimonial, can call Hamilton (274-3221) or Blanc (274-7008).
Meanwhile, tickets for the dinner will go on sale at the Rendez-Vous at the beginning of next week.
Tickets will cost $35 each, or $300 for a table of 10.
Cocktails will be served at 5 p.m., with dinner to follow promptly at 6.
