An Atikokan man is facing several charges in conjunction with a motor vehicle accident there in July that killed one person and seriously injured two others.
Joseph J. Benjamin, 28, was charged with criminal negligence causing death, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, impaired driving causing death, impaired driving causing bodily harm, and driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg, the OPP reported yesterday.
He will appear in court in Atikokan on Nov. 1, police added.
Krysta Mosley, 19, of Atikokan, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred in the early-morning hours of July 29.
Alisha Seguin, 19, of Thunder Bay, and Benjamin were treated for severe injuries. Both have since been released from hospital.
The Fort Frances Crime Unit assisted the Atikokan OPP in this investigation.
