In mid-July, a number of break-ins were reported to the OPP in Rainy River and surrounding area.
The Fort Frances OPP Crime Unit investigated the cases and has laid charges in relation to the offences committed at the Rainy River Legion, Rainy River Library, Riverfront Canteen, and Lowes Lumber.
An 18-year-old Rainy River male is charged with two counts of break and enter. An Emo male, 19, is charged with break and enter.
They will appear in court in Rainy River on Nov. 14.
In other news, the Fort Frances OPP responded to a break and enter report at Kettle’s Restaurant on Saturday (Sept. 8) at 7 a.m.
Officers arrived and discovered culprits had gained entry through a door and removed 84 bottles of beer and 17 bottles of hard liquor, plus an undetermined amount of cash.
The Fort Frances Crime Unit assisted in the investigation and around 3 p.m. that day, two First Nation males were arrested for the incident.
Charged with break and enter, and possession of property obtained by crime, were a 23-year-old Fort Frances man and a 33-year-old man from Winnipeg.
They were remanded into custody and appeared in court here Monday.
Also On Saturday, Fort Frances OPP officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Scott Street around 4 a.m.
A Winnipeg man, 26, subsequently was arrested and charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He was released and will appear in court Oct. 22.
