Charges have been laid against a former employee of Stella WaxBar in Fort Frances following an investigation by the OPP.
In a press release from the Scott Street salon, the business confirmed that on June 8, 2026, an individual, identified only as a former employee, was charged with theft under $5,000.
According to the press release, the charge stems from allegations that in 2024, during the individual’s time at the business, they removed product from the location. Upon becoming aware of the matter, Stella WaxBar reported the issue to the OPP and cooperated with the subsequent investigation.
“We appreciate the work of the OPP in reviewing this matter,” said Stella WaxBar owner Kate Lamers. “Our focus remains on our clients, our team and the continued safe operation of our business.”
The Times reached out to the Fort Frances OPP for more information regarding the incident and subsequent investigation but did not hear back by press time.
As the matter is before the courts. Stella WaxBar said they will not be commenting further on the allegations or the legal proceedings.
Stella WaxBar said they continue to operate as usual and remain committed to serving its clients and supporting its employees.
