There will be a few new faces on the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce board of directors following nominations at last week’s annual general meeting.
There will be no need for an election this year, but the following will be appointed at the Chamber’s next meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
Joining the board will be Dave West (Ainsworth), Gord Winik (AbitibiBowater), and Luke Skaarup (Union Gas), as well as new representatives from Gillons’ Insurance and Bell Alliant, who will replace the departing Tyler Cousineau and John McEvoy, respectively.
Leaving the board are director Dave Petsnick (Revco Carpet) and treasurer Lillian Gerley (UPS Store).
Meanwhile, president Cathy Emes (Skills & Employment Source) has wrapped up her term and will serve as past president for the coming year.
Chamber manager Anthony Mason said anyone on the board interested in being president or treasurer should contact him prior to Dec. 21, adding Gerley and Emes will continue in their current roles until someone else steps in.
Returning to the board of directors are Leo Melanson (B93•FM), Robin Payeur (Causeway General Insurance), Mark Caron (M.L. Caron Electric), Barb Cournoyer (TD Canada Trust), Kevin Langford (Canada Safeway), Krista Gushulak (CIBC), Lisa Plourde (RBC), and Jennifer Morrison (Enterprise Rent-A-Car).
Also at last week’s AGM, the Chamber heard from Chad Eisner, manager of the Ainsworth mill in Barwick.
Mason noted all Chamber members are encouraged to attend their monthly meetings.
