The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its 2017-18 executive and board of directors positions.
We are looking for business and professional people who wish to be actively involved with us for the purpose of promoting the civic, commercial, and industrial progress of our community.
The board of directors consists of 14 volunteers who are elected by the Chamber’s membership.
Directors serve a two-year term which begins Jan. 1 of their elected year.
Nominees for the board must be members in good standing of the Chamber of Commerce, either as a business owner or employee.
Nominations are held to actively seek out dedicated, community-minded individuals whose common goals and principles coincide with the Chamber of Commerce and its mandate.
A director or executive who commits their time and talent to the Chamber also reaps a rewarding experience from working together with other directors, executives, members, and staff for the purpose of advancing business interests in our area.
Successful candidates would be prepared to assist the Chamber in accomplishing its goals and objectives, and be willing to contribute to formulating and advocating on behalf of the policies related to the betterment of our business community.
The board is looking for those individuals who are keenly aware of local, provincial, and federal issues that affect our business climate, and are able to respond to them in a reasonable, professional, and discreet manner.
Newly-elected directors assist in providing leadership and advocacy for a continued healthy business environment, as well as contributing to the voice of business in Fort Frances and surrounding area.

Nominations will be accepted at the Chamber office (102-240 First St. E.) until this Friday (Oct. 21).
The nominating committee will review all applications.
