The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce has added a new member to its team.
Laura Kakeeway started with the Chamber last Monday (May 26) as the project assistant/membership development co-ordinator, and will be there until the end of November.
The position will focus on several key factors, including:
•retention and recruitment of members;
•finalizing the Chamber’s strategic plan for presentation to the membership;
•designing the 2009 tourism marketing plan; and
•assisting with important community and Chamber events, including the Chamber’s 100th anniversary in 2009 and September’s golf tournament.
Although Kakeeway has been with the Chamber for just over a week, she already has experienced much of what it has to offer.
She has networked with several members while shopping for equipment and supplies, attended a board of directors meeting at Lee Garden, and attended the “Business After Hours” deck party at La Place Rendez-Vous.
The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce has a membership of more than 170 businesses and is continually looking to recruit additional ones.
Contact Kakeeway at 274-5773 or via e-mail at laura@fortfranceschamber.com with member questions or concerns, or to schedule a face-to-face meeting to discuss the benefits and services of Chamber membership.
The project assistant/membership development co-ordinator position is funded in partnership with Service Canada’s Job Creation Partnerships (JCP) program.
