The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce, in its continuing effort to improve the economic, civic, and social well-being of the district, is pleased to announce Cassandra Parise as its new community development officer.
Parise’s main responsibility with the Chamber will be the Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) project.
As previously reported, BR&E is a cost-effective, community-based economic development tool that responds to business needs and issues; encourages communities and local businesses to work together; enhances job creation and economic prosperity; and encourages growth and stability of local businesses.
Parise, who started with the Chamber last Monday (Nov. 19), also will be working on other initiatives, including government relations, membership development, and events such as the annual home and leisure show.
She will be picking up where previous community development officer Kerri Dittaro left off this past May.
Additional surveys and business visitations top the list of Parise’s priorities in the coming months while developing final reports, action plans, and public meetings will follow.
Parise recently graduated from Fanshawe College with a diploma in Business Administration. She is looking forward to leading the BR&E project and assisting with other Chamber initiatives throughout her one-year internship.
The community development officer position is partially funded by the Northern Ontario Heritage Internship Fund.
